Blackhawk Ski Club
Blackhawk is a non-profit, private club and membership is required.
Blackhawk members may hike, walk, or ski the trails as well as use the chalets
or picnic areas. Dogs are allowed. Membership costs $75 for a
one-year membership. For more information or to purchase a membership, log

Directions: Take University Ave., Old Sauk Road or Mineral Point Road west
to Pleasant View Road. Turn left from University Ave or turn right from
Old Sauk Road on to Pleasant View Road. Turn west on Blackhawk Road.
The entrance to the ski club is approximately two miles from Pleasant View Road
at the bottom of a hill. The gates to the club are usually closed so park
on the road and meet at the gate. (DO NOT drive your car into the club if
the gates are open as you may get locked in).
Quarry Ridge Park in Fitchburg
Quarry Ridge is a recreational area that
is adjacent to the Capital City Bike Trail & Military Ridge Bike Trail in
Fitchburg. The parking lot is at 2740 Fitchrona Road. It is about a
45 minute ride from the Arboretum. No trail pass is required at Quarry
Ridge. However, if you ride there the Capitol City Trail and Military
Ridge Trail do require trail passes. In addition, if you combine Quarry
Ridge with Badger Prairie County Park you will need a County trail pass for
Badger Prairie. Directions: By bike, ride west on
the Southwest Bicycle Path until it turns into the
Capitol City Trail. Stay on the Capitol City Trail until
it turns into the Military Ridge Trail. Keep your eyes
open for the exit from the path into the park. If
you reach Verona you've gone too far. By car, take
18/151, turn right on McKee Rd. Turn left on
Nesbitt and left on Fitchrona. Quarry Ridge is
right after you turn on Fitchrona.
Cam Rock County Park Area 3
A trail permit is required to bike at any county park. An annual
membership costs $15 and a daily membership costs $2.
Directions: From Madison take Hwy 12-18 east towards Cambridge. Turn
right (south) on Hwy 73. Turn left (east) on Koshkonong Rd. Turn
right (south) on Highland Dr. The entrance to Area 3 is on the left.
Meet in the parking lot.
Note: A daily or annual Dane County trail pass is required
to ride at Cam-Rock. |
